Deal of the Day

Here is a Deal that you can’t refuse.

BLACK+DECKER Purify 2-Liter Air Fryer, Black/Stainless Steel, HF110SBD

Is it really worth the hype? Yes, it is worth all the hype and more.

1. It’s a healthier alternative to traditional fried foods. If you are looking to give up fried foods then the air fryer is the best choice for you. The air fryer will give you that fried taste minus all the grease.

2. The air fryer is easy to clean up after being used. You can remove the parts of the air fryer and even place them in the dishwasher if you prefer to wash them that way.

3. Multiple usages: fry, grill, roast or bake
Air Fry frozen foods such as French fries, onion rings or chicken nuggets
Air Grill vegetables or seafood
Air Roast any meats or vegetables
Air Bake muffins, cupcakes, brownies or bread

You have heard about all the hype, now what’s the downside? I’m glad you asked I’ll be happy to fill you in.

1. It takes longer to cook with an air fryer you can normally cook French fries in 10 minutes in a deep fryer. But not with the air fryer it would take 20 minutes for them to cook.

2. If you have a large family then you will have to cook the food in different batches cause it is so small you would not be able to cook for a large family all at once.

The air fryer is definitely worth the hype to buy. It is a kitchen appliance that I highly suggest everyone invest in. I love fried foods but I also had to give them up so when I purchased the air fryer I have been able to indulge in a healthier version of fried foods. Of course, it has been trial and error with the air fryer but over time I have become very satisfied with the end results of using the air fryer.

Crafting Can Be Frugal

Are you into crafting? Do you like DIY projects?

If you answered yes to both questions you are in the right place. If crafting is in your blood and your funds are limited, your limited funds can go a long way at a craft store, Dollar Tree or <a href="http://crafts“>Amazon.

Crafting is still frugal if you know how to shop. Crafting can be a luxury of a person’s time and money. Walking into a craft store with the intends of buying one item and then leaving out with several different items adds up it can be quite expensive. Looking at DIY projects and getting ideas to make handmade items will add up in cost. If you are looking for cheap or free items don’t stop here keep reading.

Do you sew? Would like to get your fabric for cheap or even free?

IMG_1438

When you go to a craft stop you first start looking for the fabric and you are amazed by all the beautiful colors, textures and the patterns in front of you. You suddenly begin to look through all the rows and look at the walls to see which fabric to get. That’s an option but to spend less you would need to look again.

Step back and look again to save money you can get fabric from other sources. Other sources I know your thinking what other sources. Always check other sources first and then the clearance section. Other sources that you can use would be sheets, duvet covers, table clothes, curtains, and placemats. After the holidays and the season change always check to see what decors they have on clearance that you could possibly sew with even turn a Christmas tree skirt into a costume skirt for a princess. These items are always on clearance and most importantly they are already hemmed or have buttons on them that will allow you to work with them.

So, you don’t sew?

Your exactly right I don’t sew but I would like to make t-shirts with designs. I have made shirts with iron-on transfers and I have even tried to paint a shirt with a paper stencil. I want to purchase a Cricut or a Silhouette, but the cost is a bit pricey at this time, so I have been using an Exacto knife to cut out the designs for my t-shirts. I searched the internet and craft stores for a good price and have yet to find a good price.

Well, you would need to make sure that when you are looking at crafts stores you are checking for coupons and you are reading the fine print. Recently at Hobby Lobby, they had a 40% off coupon that came out and it had very little restrictions listed on the bottom of the coupon. With that coupon, you would be able to purchase a Silhouette for under $200 depending on what the price is in your store. If your local store may have it priced at $199.99 and then you would use the 40% off coupon which will then make it $119.99. Now that’s a deal.

With an in-store purchase, the Cricut nor the Silhouette comes with accessories or supplies unlike if you order them off <a href="http://crafts“>Amazon. The machine may be cheaper in store, but you would also need to factor in how much you will spend out of pocket on the supplies to get started to see if you will be spending more than the total machine cost to determine the better deal.

When purchasing your vinyl at a craft store always wait until they have a sale such as B1G1 50% or 25% off. You will come out cheaper purchasing vinyl off<a href="http://crafts“> Amazon. Also keep a eye out to when the supplies for the machine are on sale for 25%.

What is a filler item?

IMG_1419

A filler item is an item that is added to a transaction to make the deal workout at the register. Find the cheapest item that you can possibly find as a filler. A filler is used to make sure that the coupon value doesn’t exceed the full value of the items purchased.

When do you use a filler?

F698D3EA-3438-4024-BDAD-19519937BF28

Most stores don’t give back overage, so you will have to use a filler in its place. Today I made a purchase of Tide Laundry detergent. I purchased 6 of them for $2.48 each, total $14.88. I had a manufacturer coupon for $3 off 1 Tide Laundry Detergent. I used 6 $3 off 1 Tide Laundry Detergent coupons, total $18. So, in this case the coupon total is more that the actual cost of the items being purchased it leaves me with $3.12 worth of overage. Now this when the filler comes into place. I can either get 1 item for close to the $3.12 price or I can purchase several small items to make it up to that price. Then there is also the option that the store can wash away the negative balance and you just pay the taxes on the purchase.

Coupon Overage

Coupon overage can happen from time to time on your purchase. Which means that you have redeemed coupons that are more than the cost of the items that you have purchased. Couponing overage comes from very carefully matching up coupons it is something that don’t happen often, but it does happen from time to time.

IMG_1410

You will have a better chance at having coupon overage if you shop at a store that will allow you use a manufacturer’s coupon along with a store coupon for one that will reduce the cost of the and could possibly lead to overage on the purchase. Another way to achieve coupon overage is when you use a coupon that is of high value on a product that is on clearance or at his final markdown price.

77957A20-7D90-46DF-AA30-4BC3DD724331

Often times there are coupons that are higher value that the price of an item which can cause overage for you.

Also combing coupons on sale products and redeeming a Catalina for additional money off the total purchase can create overage.

You can still use the extra bucks on deals that you will receive extra bucks for but make sure you are checking the limits on the deals to receive the extra bucks.

IMG_1048

Extra bucks are earned in three different ways and usually expire within 30 days.

  • Quarterly extra bucks are issued four times a year and are calculated on the shopper’s spending at CVS.
  • Prescription refills once you have filled ten prescription’s and or gotten vaccination at CVS. You will earn $5 Extra Bucks.

CVS accepts all manufacturer coupons which includes the internet printable. CVS also has there own coupons that can be used as well.

CVS has there own coupons that are either emailed to you, sent out in the mail to you, then check the both of your receipts for coupons and they are also issued at the Kiosk in store.

CVS allows there store coupon and one manufacturer coupon per product. Extra bucks are not considered to be a coupon and they don’t count them as one they can be used with the store and manufacturer’s coupons.

IMG_1078

4. Do small transaction in order to spend less out of pocket

If you know couponing you will pay for your items out of pockets at first. Then with items that are purchased, you will receive extra bucks at the both of your receipts. After receiving the extra bucks you can then roll them over into another transaction. Rolling your extra bucks over to another transaction will make you spend less out of pocket. You can also save your extra bucks for the next weeks deals which will lower yours out of pocket expenses.

The more you shop at CVS you will start to earn more extra bucks they will begin to build up slowly over time. Always check the expiration date to make sure you don’t miss out on using them.IMG_10805. Rain Checks

CVS offers rainchecks if the item is out of stock. CVS issues rainchecks on the sale items and the extra buck amounts too. The rain checks never expire. People often save the rainchecks for when they have a coupon that will make the deal even better with little out of pocket money spent.

Here are some common general FAQs about the points system at Walgreens: Points are earned on all items purchased in a transaction. Points are rewarded on a total purchase after coupons all rewards programs work this way. If you make a purchase of $25 in products and have $8 in coupons, you will get points only on $17.

  • Points are earned on all items that are purchased in a transaction.
  • Points are rewarded on total purchases after store coupons have been applied. This is how all rewards programs work. If you purchase $20 in products and have $5 in Walgreen’s coupons, you will get points only on $15 that is spent out of pocket.
  • Points are rewarded on a total purchase before manufacturer’s coupons. If you purchase $20 in products and have $1 in manufacturer’s coupons, your total would be $19, but you will still earn points on your $20 purchase.
  • To earn points, the purchase must be made in a single transaction. The totals do not add up from several different receipts. You will find your points listed on both receipt.

Lets Start Saving Money A Walgreens

Shopping at Walgreens you will want to be familiar with their Register Reward program as well as the Balance Rewards program that they offer and also know the coupon policy.

Balance Rewards Program
At Walgreens, you would need to make sure you are signed up for there card. You can sign up in-store or online for the card. When you are in store after signing up you can either use the card for them to scan it or type in your phone number. With the card or the phone number, you will be able to get the items for the sales price.

IMG_0941

Earning Points                                                                                                                              Each week Walgreens offer points for a select item in the weekly ads. The products will vary from week to week. They also offer some points on items that run monthly you will find them listed in the stores on the signs.

Redeeming Points
When making a purchase you can redeem points if you would like or you can save your point. If you decide to save your points then you will accumulate more points so that when you redeem them it will be more points. 1,000 points are equal to $1.00  until you reach 18,000 points. Once you reach 18,000 points the value will increase so it would be equal to $20. If you are redeeming 5,000 points then that’s redeeming $5.00. You can not redeem points and receive points in the same transaction.

For example, if you spend $30 and you will receive 10,000 points back it is not a good an idea to use points to pay if you want to receive the 10,000 points. But you can also redeem points on a transaction where you will earn Register Reward Points it will not impact your Register Rewards and vice versa.

img_0947.jpg

Manufacturer’s coupons will not impact you earning points. So for example, if an offer is to spend $15 and earn 3,000 points on any Old Spice purchase you will need to hit the $15 before manufacturer’s coupons. Walgreens coupons, however, do impact your amount. So you would need to reach $15 BEFORE manufacturer’s coupons but AFTER Walgreens coupons. This also applies to all the special bonus offers like earn $5 in points when you spend $25 in store.

Cashback apps like Checkout 51, SavingStar, and Ibotta can also be used in conjunction with manufacturer’s coupons, Walgreens coupons, and Walgreens Balance Rewards deals.

Register Reward
The register reward deals will vary from week to week while others can last only for a few days and then there are other deals that last for an entire month.

  • How long are Register Rewards valid?
Register Rewards vary they can be for a week or up to two weeks. That is why I plan my shopping trips and roll the register rewards over into another transaction. I normally take my Register Rewards from one transaction and use them in another transaction that gives me back Register Rewards.
  • Can I use a Register Reward I received from one item to buy another of the same item?
You can but another Register Reward will not print. Remember you can use a Register Reward and Walgreens Coupon on the same item in one transaction.
  • What are fillers?
Fillers are inexpensive items that you buy so you can use more Register Rewards to meet the limit on the register rewards or to satisfy the spend $25 to get the bonus points.  So if I have several items that I am buying and you want to use manufacturer coupons for the items you will need to pick up a few filler items to make sure you reach the limit.

Walgreens Coupon Book

IMG_0949

Walgreens has its own coupon books called the Monthly Savings Book and sometimes they also have pharmacy coupon books. They work very similar to the in-ad coupons. There are restrictions on the number of items that can be purchased with the coupon, but if you split the purchases up into different transactions, go on a different day, or go to a different Walgreens store you can use them multiple times.

Be sure to check out the link for the Walgreens Deals . I will update it each week with the top deals to do. Where you will spend no more than $10 out of pocket.
Those are the ways to coupon and save at Walgreens.  If you have questions or comments please leave them below.
